Better Late Than Never? Oprah To Finally Receive Star On Walk Of Fame

Wow, after almost 25 years of hosting a top talk show, creating a magazine, starring in and producing films and helping to get the first African-American President elected to office, Oprah Winfrey is finally receiving a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame! While congratulations are in order, I'm more inclined to say "it's about time!" And Oprah isn't the only one being honored, will.i.am, Bebe and Cece Winans and Tina Fey are among the 30 celebrities to receive stars on the "Walk". “It was not an easy job to win­now down the extra large num­ber of nom­i­na­tions this year to reach these 30 names,” said John Pavlik, chair of the Hol­ly­wood Walk of Fame Com­mit­tee, “and many deserv­ing names were left for future con­sid­er­a­tion. But the place­ment of stars for these famous celebri­ties will give fans and tourists some fun and excit­ing close encoun­ters next year."
