They year 2010 is halfway over and is a mark of a whole new decade and as we turn from the 2000s and even further from the 1990s it is always a good idea to take a look back. Do you all remember the Rap City Freestyles that kicked off during BET afternoon series that everyone used to tune in to. It was great to catch your favorite rappers in the "booth", and catch them making raw music. In this featured Rap City booth session the Cash Money Miilionaires are highlghted and this was from the early in year 2000.
Lil Wayne, Baby, and Juvenile all go hard on the beat in this Rap City In The Basement Freestyle.
And since the Atlanta Brave are on a tear in the MLB right now, it only takes true Braves fans back to the 1990s. Back then when the city of Atlanta had Deion Sanders playing for both the Atlanta Braves and Atlanta Falcons. It was only right for "PrimeTime" to be signed to Nike, release dope sneakers, and make classic commercials with jewelry on. This commercial dates back 1993... God I miss the 90s. These Nike Air Diamond Turf Trainers are releasing this June so stay tuned...

Looks like there is not going to be a Tyler Perry – Aaron McGruder standoff in court. Darn. 'The Boondocks' episode that everyone is STILL talking about attempted to demolish Perry’s image by highlighting every rumor and negative nuance that surrounds his work in theatre and film. Entertainment Weekly gave a pretty good description of the episode in case you missed it:
The “Pause” episode’s Ma Duke character was clearly Madea, and it stands to reason that the Winston Jerome character was Tyler Perry (neither Perry’s office nor Turner Networks would comment on the episode). Jerome’s works were portrayed as poorly written and almost buffoonish and set him up as a closeted, cultish leader, who created his Ma Duke empire as a way to solicit sex with men. In the episode, Huey and Riley’s grandpa gets cast in Jerome’s new play, “Ma Duke Gets a Man.” First he’s asked to kiss Ma Duke on stage, then Jerome asks him straight out for sex.

It’s hard to imagine Serena Williams not absolutely loving her strong, curvy body, but in the August issue of Harper's Bazaar, she reveals that she’s a regular woman just like the rest of us. She admits to the mag, which hits stands on July 20th, she used to covet her sister’s (Venus) model-esque body shape. "I'm super-curvy. I have big boobs and this massive butt. She's tall and she's like a model and she fits everything. I was growing up, wanting to be her, wanting to look like her, and I was always fitting in her clothes, but then one day I couldn’t. But it’s fine. Now I’m obviously good, but it’s a weird thing. . . . To this day, I don’t love my arms. People want more fit arms, but my arms are too fit. But I’m not complaining. They pay my bills."

After making her first post-pregnancy appearance at the 10th annual BET awards, Keyshia Cole has announced that she’s working hard on her fourth album and it features a duet with singer Tank. Cole surprised everyone at the awards show when she appeared on stage to sing the chorus to B.o.B.’s ‘Airplanes’.
Producer Donald Alford, who’s responsible for the Monica-assisted song, ‘Trust,’ confirms that the Tank duet will also be a ballad. Oooh, I’m looking forward to that! The album will drop later this year.
And in case you don’t remember, Cole just gave birth to her first child with fiancé Daniel Gibson back in March. Let’s hear a round of applause for Keyshia’s hot post-baby body.

TMZ first reported ... Katherine and Joe Jackson sponsored a ritzy Michael Jackson event at the Beverly Hilton Hotel Saturday night -- with tickets going as high as $500 a pop -- and if there are profits, we're told some of that will line her pocket.
And then there's the book she's hawking -- "Never Can Say Goodbye" -- co-authored by Howard Mann, who made a fortune off of nude online gambling.
Mann tells us he's going into other businesses with Katherine as well. Roger Friedman from Showbiz411.com says he's seen a contract between Mann and Katherine which guarantees her $10,000 a month for promoting a book in the works, "The Katherine Jackson Story." Mann claims Katherine will net $10 mil from the book.
Now here's the problem ... When the judge in the Michael Jackson estate case signed off on Katherine getting more than $26,000 a month, it was based on need. If she's making money on the side -- especially making money off her late son -- it's likely the judge will no longer see the need to fill Katherine's wallet.
So it's coming down to a "Let's Make a Deal" decision. Katherine, do you want door #1 or door #2?

Sources close to Lindsay Lohan tell TMZ her new assistant just didn't cut it -- and not one, but two of her ex assistants are angling to come back.
We're told the new guy "couldn't keep up" and he (pictured 2nd) and LiLo have already parted ways. We're told Eleonore (pictured 3rd), the assistant who quit two weeks ago, wants her gig back because she needs to pay her bills and can't afford to be sidelined any longer.
But get this -- Lindsay's assistant from her glory days, Jenni (pictured 4th), is also interested in an encore. We're told the job pays waaaaaaaaaay less than it did back in the day, but Jenni is also in dire need of work.

Unofficial MJ Memorial -- Katherine in the House!
The Forever Michael Memorial that went down last night didn't have the blessing of Michael Jackson's estate or his brother Randy, but it did have the support of his mother Katherine.
The matriarch of the Jackson clan was in attendance at the Beverly Hilton last night -- our spies say Katherine, Tito Jackson and one of Randy's daughters were the only Jackson family members that were there.
We're told the place looked about "half empty" and the only celebs our sources saw were Mickey Rooney, Corey Feldman and Eddie Griffin.
As for food and drinks -- the menu consisted of a choice of salmon or steak and domestic beer could be purchased for $8.50, wine for $10.
Not exactly fit for a King.

Sources close to Oksana Grigorieva tell TMZ ... Mel Gibson punched her in the face and knocked out her teeth in a fit of rage.
Sources connected with Gibson have told TMZ the actor did not get violent with Oksana during their January 6 confrontation, although they admit things did get physical. A source connected with Oksana, however, says, "Mel and his camp are spinning the facts in a desperate attempt to protect his reputation."
Sources in Oksana's camp say Mel's people are lying when they say she shook the baby. Instead, the sources say, "She tried to protect the baby during one of Gibson's violent episodes when he punched Oksana in the face two times, breaking her teeth and giving her a concussion."
As one source put it, "She tried to protect his reputation, depsite her fears of him and his verbal and physical abuse." And the source goes on, "She regrets having believed in his empty promises to obtain professional help to control his violent nature."
TMZ broke the story ... Oksana obtained a restraining order against Gibson last Monday, which prohibits him from coming within 100 yards of her.
Oksana's attorneys would not comment about the case, but did say, "The true facts will be brought out in a court of law. Oksana will continue to abide by the ethical obligations and rules arising from a confidential paternity action and will let the court decide the issue in this matter."

While congratulations are in order, I'm more inclined to say "it's about time!" And Oprah isn't the only one being honored, will.i.am, Bebe and Cece Winans and Tina Fey are among the 30 celebrities to receive stars on the "Walk". “It was not an easy job to winnow down the extra large number of nominations this year to reach these 30 names,” said John Pavlik, chair of the Hollywood Walk of Fame Committee, “and many deserving names were left for future consideration. I can't help but notice a trend that is starting to take place in the media, in my personal adventures, and even in my business life. For some reason it seems that it is becoming "ok" for these dudes to put their hands on women! When a man openly films himself assaulting a woman or even when we watch something like the esteemed Angela Basset play Tina Turner in "What's Love Got to Do With It", we need to remind not only these men but OURSELVES that this type of behavior is not ok in any way shape or form. I recently visited women that reside in a Battered Women's Home. Ladies, I was crushed listening to their stories about the ongoing mental and physical abuse and how hard they are now fighting to put their lives back together. Number ONE - no woman should ever feel that she "deserved" to be hit. I don't care how far we push, how much we might yell, or how much taunting we might do in a situation. A real man that loves you will walk away from you before he puts his hands on you. Period. And I'm not saying that it's ok for us to hit a man either, remember ladies unless you are weight training, boxing, or studying martial arts - plain and simple most men are just physically stronger. I need us as women to develop our emotional and mental self esteem to the point that we KNOW we have VALUE and if he cheats, lies, is dis-respectful or makes us feel any less than our worth - WE ARE STRONG ENOUGH TO WALK AWAY. ::PAGE:: I am so tired of watching these men be protective over their cars, or their shoes, their jewelry, even their dogs!! And yet they will blatantly act as though we aren't worthy of protecting. We let them get away with not realizing our true value and its time we stop devaluing ourselves. Ladies I am worth so much that a man better not even raise his voice at me, even if we are having a disagreement AND I'm in the wrong. | Jamie Foxx has it in for sound engineers. After Drake’s Better Than Good Enough documentary highlighted a horrible performance in Atlanta (due to horrible sound), he had some bad luck in front of a much more important audience. The Thank Me Later rapper recently performed (or tried to) at Bao Steakhouse in L.A. as part of a promotional event. Among the star-studded crowd were Jamie Foxx and Zoe Saldana. Halfway through Drake’s performance, the sound faded , leaving Drake in silence and halting the entire show. Jamie Foxx stomped over to the sound engineer to find out what happened and sources confirm that he "went nuts on the guy working in the sound booth". It just reminded us of when we attended Jamie’s ‘Unpredictable’ tour in Chicago. His sound was distorted during certain parts of the show and he was livid! The sound guys got an earful of angry expletives backstage. Jamie doesn’t play when it comes to sound! But look at Drake having Academy Award winning folks coming to his rescue! If you remember, Drake is featured on Jamie Foxx's 'Digital Girl' remix. The two are music buds. |

Puff apparently got in the public bus like everyone else to go visit Weezy, and the two chopped it up for an hour. According to TMZ the company behind the jet, Air Plantinum Holding, is suing Jay-Z claiming the rapper spent 55 hours on the plane in 2009 but has only paid for 37 of those hours. When it comes to Lil Wayne no matter what he does its hot! Through the years his style changes with the times but he always has that Lil Wayne swag that everybody loves! Over the years one of the things that has change with Wayne is his hair styles. Between dreads, braids, long or short, whichever way he wears it people still love him. Wayne even mentions his haircut in some of his songs, in the Ester Dean song Drop it low remix with Chris Brown, "Hair to the back, Hat to the front," and in his song I'm Single, "dreads braided to the back, Im chillin but my swag on full attack."
